The halftime performance of the Super Bowl is always a key part of the big game.
Yes, people are there for the football. That’s the main sell here. But there’s also a bit of a concert in between all of the sports that people absolutely love to watch and talk about. Super Bowl 58 will be no different.
So who is performing at halftime for the 2024 Super Bowl? And how long are they expected to be on? Those are some pretty simple, but important, questions that we’re going to answer here today.

Usher is this year's halftime performer
Usher was picked as this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show performer. It was announced back in September that he’d be doing the show in Las Vegas for the NFL.
It lines up pretty perfectly considering Usher just wrapped up a Las Vegas residency at the tail end of 2023. Now he’s back to do another show — this time, for the NFL.

Here's what he had to say about performing this year
Usher is really excited about doing the halftime show for this year’s Super Bowl. He called it the “honor of a lifetime,” per NFL.com:
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Here's how long the performance will be
No one can really know just how long any given Super Bowl performance will be. It obviously has to be within that window of the two halves of the game, but we don’t know if Usher’s will be longer or shorter. He could go long on one song or bring out some guests. Anything can happen.
USA TODAY’s Cydney Henderson writes that, usually, performances are around 13 minutes but Super Bowl shows last longer.
“A regular NFL halftime normally lasts 13 minutes, but halftime for the Super Bowl lasts longer to accommodate for the setup, show and takedown, in addition to teams’ on-field warm-ups.
Still, expect Usher to be on the stage for fewer than 15 minutes.”
We’ll just have to find out on that day.

No, he won't be paid for it
Usher won’t be paid for his Super Bowl performance, just like the other halftime performers before him.
The NFL has never paid the performers who have done halftime shows. It’s always been more about the spotlight those artists get than any sort of check or cash on the backend of things.
There’s definitely a streaming boost that comes with it and Usher will surely see one after his performance. Plus, it’ll probably help him sell tickets for his upcoming tour.
