Sunny Wednesday for the North East according to Met Office hour by hour forecast

The North East is set for a sunny start on Wednesday though that will give way to rain and clouds in the afternoon.

Sunshine is expected from around 7am until 10am, before an afternoon of sunny intervals and a chance of light rain around 3pm. Thursday is also likely to be sunny, though there is a chance of rain during the afternoon and later into the night.

The Met Office said: "Squally showers soon clearing, then dry for most with sunny spells. Risk of isolated heavy showers, mainly in the west.

"Further overnight rain likely. Strong winds persisting, easing slightly later. Maximum temperature 11 °C."
