Sunderland announce new date for their League One trip to Bristol Rovers

Sunderland's League One fixture at Bristol Rovers has been rescheduled and will now be played in March.

The Black Cats' visit to the Memorial Stadium was originally due to take place on Saturday, November 16, but was postponed due to international call-ups.

The game will now take place on Tuesday, March 10, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Ticket details for the new date have yet to be announced.

The new date means Sunderland will face Ben Garner's Pirates twice in 18 days, with Rovers due to visit the Stadium of Light on Saturday, February 22.

Rovers are currently 12th in League One, two points behind seventh-placed Sunderland.

The Black Cats completed a league double against Rovers last season, winning 2-1 on Wearside in December thanks to goals from Adam Matthews and Josh Maja, and 2-0 at the Memorial Ground in February when Luke O'Nien and Aiden McGeady were on target.

They also beat Rovers at the Memorial Ground in the semi-final of the EFL Trophy in March, with Will Grigg and on-loan Celtic winger Lewis Morgan scoring the goals that day.
