Sunday effect: 3 Covid positive out of 1321 tests

NAGPUR: Only 3 new Covid patients were detected in Vidarbha in the last 24 hours, owing to lesser testing on account of Sunday being a holiday on March 27.

Nagpur, Amravati and Gadchiroli reported 1 patient each taking Vidarbha’s Covid tally to 12,81,260. Only 1 patient recovered in the day, in Wardha. With this, 12,59,790 of the total cases have recovered fully. The region’s recovery rate is 98.35%.

Total 1,321 tests were conducted in the region.

No Covid death was reported in the day. The Covid toll has remained unchanged at 21,770 for the last 10 days now. The case fatality rate is also lowering now. With only 3 samples testing positive, the test positivity rate is 0.22% in Vidarbha. Eight districts in the region witnessed zero Covid day on Monday.

As on date, 47 patients are under treatment in Vidarbha, 22 of them in Nagpur district alone and all of them in home isolation.

Nagpur city reported 1 new Covid patient in last 24 hours out of 381 tests. Authorities confirmed that all 22 patients who are under treatment in Nagpur are in home isolation only, which means the district has achieved unique ‘Zero Covid Hospitalization’ tag.

Yavatmal and Washim also maintained their ‘zero Covid’ tag. Barring Nagpur, no other district in Vidarbha is having more than 5 patients under treatment now. March has been the best month so far with 614 cases and 4 deaths.

Yavatmal: There were no Covid deaths or any new cases in the last 24 hours, keeping the toll unchanged at 1,803. There is no active case in the district. The administration received 212 reports on Monday. The test positivity rate is 9.29%, death rate is 2.28% and the daily positivity rate is zero.

Wardha: The number of patients under treatment reduced to two after a patient was discharged on Monday. No new case was reported from 63 reports, while the caseload remained unchanged at 58,104. Recoveries increased to 57,139 and toll also remained unchanged at 1,351 as no new death was reported.

Amravati: One out of the 269 samples tested was found positive, but there were no recoveries or deaths reported on Monday. The number of active cases rose to five.

Chandrapur: There were no cases, recoveries or deaths in the district on Monday.
