The Meteorological Department warns of summer storms in most parts of Thailand, including Greater Bangkok, from Thursday until next Monday.

The department said on Wednesday that cold air from China will reach the South China Sea, strengthening southerly and southeasterly winds over the East and lower Northeast, while upper regions remain extremely hot.

Summer storms, including lightning and hail, could start in the East and Northeast on Thursday and then expand to the North and the Central Plains, including Greater Bangkok.

The conditions could continue until next Monday. Storms are most likely from Friday to Sunday, especially in Buri Ram, Chanthaburi, Chon Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Rayong, Si Sa Ket, Trat and Ubon Ratchathani provinces.
