HYDERABAD: The BJP and the TRS on Saturday exchanged barbs on the suicide of youths in Khammam and Ramayampet. While Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay said minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and TRS leaders were responsible for the suicides, the TRS leaders alleged that BJP leaders instigated the youths to take the extreme step and now started a smear campaign against the ruling party.
Sanjay alleged that at the behest of TRS leaders, the police booked 16 cases against Sai Ganesh for postings on social media criticising chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS government."Even they asked the police to open a history-sheet against Sai Ganesh," the BJP president alleged.
In Ramayampet, one Gangam Santosh and his mother committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by local municipal chairperson belonging to the TRS. "The CM and ministers are responsible for their deaths,' Sanjay said.
TRS MLC from Khammam and district TRS president Tata Madhusudhan alleged that BJP leaders had poisoned the mind of Sai Ganesh of Khammam and instigated him to commit suicide. "BJP leaders told Sai Ganesh to consume pesticide in front of police station and he would become a hero," the TRS district president alleged.
To politicise the issue, the MLC said, they started a smear campaign on social media against the TRS government.
