Succession fans fumed online after watching the final ever episode of the HBO show.
The show, which aired for four seasons, followed the Logan Roy, founder and CEO of the media conglomerate Waystar Royco, in his last years at his company.
Played by actor Brian Cox, Logan wants one of this children to take over as CEO, and while his eldest child Connor shows no interest in the media world, his other children, Kendall, Roman and Shiv battle it out for the top spot.
After watching three seasons of backstabbing and secret deals, audiences watched the trio come to together to stop Lukas Matsson, head of GoJo, take over Waystar.
However this collaboration is brief and cut short when Shiv makes a deciding vote to allow GoJo to buy out Waystar, leaving her husband Tom Wambsgans as the CEO rather than herself, completely changing the power dynamic between the couple.
Upon completing the finale episode, some fans took to Twitter to air their frustrations at the show's ending and the siblings' fate.
"Just watched that succession finally and yea I'm definitely gonna be writing an alternative ending in my head cause i refuse to believe that that's it for shiv," one fan wrote.
A second put: "#Succession is the best show about nothing since Seinfeld. Seriously, damn near every episode, nothing happens."
While a third simply commented: "Garbage ending."
Others defended the ending, claiming it was "brilliant."
"Well that finale was f***ing brilliant, no more to be said!" one wrote.
A second added: "Now that I've had time to sit with it, I can give some proper thoughts on the Succession finale. I don't think the show could possibly have gotten a more perfect ending. It's honestly beyond belief how well the show said farewell to its characters."
"Just finished #SuccessionHBO what a finale. Incredible tv. One of the best things I’ve ever seen on the small screen," a third typed.
