Subway has launched a vegan version of the meatball marinara - but there's a catch

First it was the Greggs vegan sausage roll - now it seems Subway are putting its hat in the ring.

The sandwich giant is currently trailing a vegan version of its meatball marinara in the UK.

But the bad news for Nottingham sandwich lovers is that it's only taking place in Birmingham and Manchester.

A Subway spokesperson told the M.E.N: "We are currently trialling an exciting new vegan product, our Meatless Meatball Marinara, in a number of stores across the UK."

The Subway spokesperson added: "We are hoping to introduce these nationwide early next year, so keep your eyes peeled and we'll let you know once we have more information!"

Customers are advised to ring their local Subway branch in advance to confirm whether or not the meatless marinaras will be available.
