A stunning 157-acre private island off Ireland's south coast has sold for over €5.5 million.
The luxurious Horse Island has one main home, six guest properties, a boathouse and a helipad.
It was finally sold after months of negotiations during the Covid-19 lockdown.
The island is located just off the coast of Schull in west Cork, and contains a huge six-bedroom main house, two three-bed and two two-bed guest houses, as well as two one-bed cottages.
Guests will also be treated to staggering views of the Atlantic and Roaring Water Bay, where they can swim and scuba among dolphins.
The main house offers 4,500 square feet of floor space, including double height ceilings, a guest wing, extra large panoramic windows, a roof terrace and Al Fresco courtyard.
A pier for ferries and private boats, a helipad, a games and gym house, a tennis court and a shipwreck play house are among the other facilities available on Horse Island.
The island was bought by a European multi-millionaire who wishes to remain anonymous, but the real estate broker said months of negotiations were made more complex as the buyer did not speak English.
