Stuart Dallas on Leeds United wage deferral, isolation, housework and promotion focus

Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas has stated he was 'more than happy' to take a wage deferral amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The squad at Elland Road, along with coaching staff and senior management, have volunteered to take a wage deferral, which allows the 272 non-football staff to be played entirely.

It comes with the PFA and Premier League clubs receiving vast criticism for their approach to the situation and Dallas has spoken about the importance of the decision.

"It's not just about us, it's a world crisis. We're all in this together and if everyone pulls together then we'll get through it. But as players it was the first thing we wanted to do," he told Sky Sports.

"Football has to take a back-seat, but we have to put the work in now and be ready for when the time comes. We have to focus on the end goal and that is ultimately promotion for us so we have to be ready."

The Northern Ireland international also spoke about what he's been up to during the isolation period, spending time with his kids and helping with chores.

"I've found myself doing a lot more housework, although I'm probably not the best at it. And spending time with the kids which is important because their world has been turned upside down. We have to keep them happy and smiling."
