Stuart Dallas claims playing three internationals in seven days is too much for players.
The Leeds star will start Northern Ireland’s opening World Cup qualifier against Italy in Parma on Thursday before facing the USA in a friendly on Sunday and then Bulgaria on Wednesday.
Dallas has started all of Leeds’ 29 Premier League games this season, as well as making nine appearances for the Irish, and feels the international triple headers are too taxing.
“People probably think that it should be no problem to you, but it does take its toll on you,” he said.
“Three games in 10 days are hard because you’re travelling, trying to recover, training and then you’re playing the games.

“It’s difficult, especially when you have been playing a lot for your club.
" I don’t think it should be a triple-header if I’m honest, but it is what it is.”
Dallas, 29, has covered every blade of grass this season operating in defence and midfield and he says he is happy playing anywhere for the Irish.
“I’ve been switched about for the past two or three years so I’m used to it now,” he said.
“I’ve played in midfield for my club in recent weeks. It’s a role I’m growing into and I’m becoming more comfortable the more I play there.
“I’m used to playing full-back or wing-back and I think that is where my best performances for Northern Ireland have been.

“It’s the manager's decision and I’m sure we’ll have a conversation about it this week.”
Baraclough claims he does not know what is Dallas’ best position because he is so versatile.
“What’s his best position?” said the Irish boss. “His levels are so high in all areas that I couldn’t actually say he’s best in one role.
“He enhances wherever he plays because he always raises the bar whenever he is playing, whether that’s on the left, the right or in the centre of midfield.
“He’s shown his versatility in the Premier League and he’s an integral part of what Leeds do and you can see by Marcelo Bielsa’s team selection, he’s always in the team.
“He rates him very highly and you all know he’s a big part of what Northern Ireland do.”
