It remains to be seen where the 22-year-old will end up now, with the transfer window shut in both Scotland and England.
Celtic remain in the market for a striker and could sign Kelechi Iheanacho, who became a free agent last night after Sevilla terminated his contract.
They did add Sebastian Tounekti to their attacking ranks on deadline day, with the Tunisian winger penning a five-year deal at Parkhead.
"I’m really happy that Sebastian has joined the Club and I am sure he will be a really exciting addition to our squad," manager Brendan Rodgers told celticfc.com.
"He will give us that real added attacking intent, and I am sure he can make a big difference to us.
"He is a quick, clever winger who can operate on both sides, creating opportunities for himself and others. Myself and our coaches are really looking forward to working with Sebastian."
