Strictly stars back Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova 'dream team' before tour

Strictly Come Dancing stars have backed fellow professional dancers Kai Widdrington and girlfriend Nadiya Bychkova after assembling a 'dream team' for their upcoming tour. Nadiya and Kai's Once Upon A Time hits the road this week to begin a run of UK dates stretching into May - including a show at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on Friday, April 28.

The couple, who went public with their relationship last year, announced the tour in November, with the production being billed as the 'most glamorous dance show yet'. They have been busy in rehearsals for the few weeks and preparations have now wrapped ahead of their first show on March 27.

After finishing up with rehearsals, Kai took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Nadiya with other members of the cast, reported Chronicle Live. The 27-year-old wrote: "The dream team. Our final days in a dance studio are done, now time to put this show on the road. Not long now."

Some of Kai's Strictly co-stars offered their support in the comments. Fellow professional Carlos Gu, who reached the final with Molly Rainford in his first year on the cast, wrote: "Good luck Pal, it’s going to be amazing. Xx"

Another finalist from last year, Fleur East, who made the final four partnered with pro dancer Vito Coppola, commented: "Woo can’t wait to see you all in action!" Fans also shared their excitement, with jo_76x posting: "Can’t wait to see the show in Notts!!" with a heart-eyes emoji.

Another fan, joannagoody, posted: "The best cast ever! Good luck with your final rehearsals, I cannot wait to see your special and magical tour." And kaisvalentine added: "Amazing team! Can’t wait to see what you’ve put together for this show."

Kai has gone from strength to strength recently - as he BBC presenter Helen Skelton notched up the most wins on the recently Strictly live tour. That following on from winning the show's annual Christmas special with Coronation Street actress Alexandra Mardel.

However, Kai was the first pro to bow out of the main Strictly show last year as he and Loose Women's Kaye Adams were voted off after just two performances. Nadiya also made an earlier than expected exit as she and music icon Matt Goss got the boot a few weeks after Kai and Kaye.
