Strictly star Michelle Visage is not happy about Catherine Tyldesley’s shock exit

Strictly Come Dancing star Michelle Visage made it quite clear today that she isn’t happy about Catherine Tyldesley’s shock exit from the programme.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race judge said her “jaw was on the ground” when Cath’s name was read out by the judging panel as being the one to leave.

Opening up on ITV Lorraine, Michelle said she has become close friends with the former Corrie star during their time on the show, and the 51-year-old was obviously gutted that her pal’s time had come to an end.

Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, Michelle said: “If they had kept the camera on me, my jaw was on the ground.

“It just shows you don’t know what’s happening and people need to vote to keep their favourites in.

“Nobody can take anything for granted.”

Cath and her dance partner Johannes Radebe waved goodbye to their Strictly journey on the weekend after failing to impress in the dance-off with BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell and his dance partner Katya Jones.

Viewers were so upset by the decision there were calls to “sack” head judge Shirley Ballas after she was the one to send Catherine home.

“Cath is a sweetheart and she was just on top of the world she made it to Halloween Week,” said Michelle.

Despite her upset over her friend, Michelle - who found herself at the top of the leaderboard with 39 points after her impressive Addams Family Foxtrot along with partner Giovanni Pernice - is loving every second on the BBC show.

Michelle said: “I am having the time of my life, coming in to this competition and representing a woman of a certain age.

“I knew I was going to be asking my body to do things it has never done and I’m so proud of my body.

“Giovanni is the best teacher for me. He’s my rock.

"He's basically driving me like a car because look at my neck, I can’t see where I’m going!

“So much trust is involved in it.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this weekend on BBC One.
