Strictly's Helen Skelton and Dan Walker join forces for new Channel 5 show

Helen Skelton is busy filming a brand new TV show with another Strictly Come Dancing star, with Channel 5 viewers set to get their first look at what they've been working off in a few months' time.

It's now been seven months since former Blue Peter star Helen made it all the way to the Strictly final, having wowed fans and judges alike, alongside professional partner Gorka Marquez. Having lost out on the Glitterball trophy to Hamza and Jowita, Helen then got a new partner for the Strictly live tour; being paired with Kai Widdrington, after Gorka turned down the chance to join his co-stars across the country.

Helen and Kai's partnership worked extremely well, with the couple taking home the trophy for most wins across the tour; before Helen returned to screens as host of popular Channel 5 programme Springtime on the Farm. Another BBC star who is now a regular on Channel 5 is Dan Walker, after he made the witch from BBC Breakfast to 5 News last year.

And now the two presenters have joined forces for Pennines Adventure, a new travel series, which is set to air later this year. Both Dan and Helen have been sharing behind the scenes updates on their Instagram accounts, with Dan giving the most recent on a few days ago.

Posting a photo of himself and Helen during a break in filming, Dan wrote: "We were mining Blue John in the @treakcliffcavern and canoeing under the Pennies through the Standedge Tunnel with the @canalrivertrust. We met so many lovely people. Hopefully on the @channel5_tv telly box in August."

Among the people quick to respond to Dan's post was Strictly pro Graziano Di Prima, who wrote: "FUN!!" One of Dan's followers replied: "Looking forward to seeing this on tv … the great outdoors"
