Strictly's Giovanni tells NHS 'be quick' as Rose's hearing aid breaks during rehearsals

Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice has pleaded with the National Health Service after Rose Ayling-Ellis' hearing aid broke on Wednesday.

Taking to Giovanni's Instagram Story, the pair filmed a selfie video in a dance studio as Giovanni said: "Morning people, we have some news for you today," before adding to Rose: "Tell them what happened."

With a big grin on her face, the EastEnders star said: "This morning, my hearing aid broke but I think it's because I sweat so much.

"It broke so I can't hear anything at all," she added, as Giovanni interjected: "So NHS, please be quick!"

Rose, 26, then joked: "It's quite nice, I don't have to hear his voice!" as Giovanni laughed and pleaded again: "NHS be quick!"

Actress Rose is the first ever deaf person to compete on Strictly Come Dancing, and so far she has wowed the judges with all of her performances.

Giovanni, 31, recently revealed the amazing way in which Rose learns dance routines - despite not being able to hear the music she is moving to.

Appearing on an episode of Strictly: It Takes Two, Giovanni explained how he's been training the soap star.

"Well obviously it's completely different, we just now focus on the muscle memory more than the music," he told host Janette Manrara.

"Some people connect sometimes movement to the lyrics of the song but unfortunately we can't do that.

"so it's all about muscle memory, so in her brain she's still counting and still remember what she has to do, the technique, so it's quite more difficult," Giovanni added.

Strictly fans said they got 'shivers' as they watched Rose and Giovanni perform an emotional Foxtrot routine for Movie Week (BBC/Guy Levy)

Rose then said: "It's quite a lot but I noticed people really rely on the music to remember what's next but I don't do that."

Last weekend, Strictly Come Dancing fans said they got 'shivers' as they watched Rose and Giovanni perform an emotional Foxtrot routine for Movie Week.

The pair wowed the crowd as they stared into each other's eyes and slowly moved around the dance floor to My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, from the movie Titanic.

Over on Twitter, fans praised the incredible dance with one person tweeting: "Rose & Giovanni got me sobbing into my prosecco and I ain't even ashamed."

A second shared: "Rose’s dance was beautiful in every way. Moved me."

"Oh my goodness, Rose and Giovanni were just perfect. I’m not crying you are…" a third added.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
