Strictly’s Ellie Taylor hopes 'brilliant' Helen Skelton wins show following Richie Myler split

Strictly Come Dancing’s Ellie Taylor has revealed that she wants “brilliant” Helen Skelton to win the BBC show as Lorraine insists that it will “boost her confidence.”

The comedian became the ninth star to exit the show on Sunday night, alongside her pro dance partner Johannes Radebe. The couple found themselves in the bottom two and had a dance-off with Fleur East and Vito Coppola.

Despite their attempts to impress the judges Ellie was sadly voted off the show after making it past week ten. The 39-year-old appeared on the Lorraine show this morning as she spoke about her time on Strictly and which star she wanted to walk away with the Glitterball.

Lorraine asked: “I bet it’s going to be hard seeing Johannes with someone else.” Ellie joked: “I’ll be fuming.” She continued: “I’ll be stalking whoever it is, where has she come from, who is she or he. With time I think it’ll be ok but it will be odd.”

The star admitted that she did much better than she ever imagined. She said: “I had it in my diary that I would only make it to week three. Week ten? Never did I think I’d make it this far.”

Lorraine couldn’t help but ask: “Who do you think will win or who would you like to win?” Ellie admitted that all her fellow Strictly co-stars have a good chance of making it all the way to the final however it was Helen Skelton who had her full support.

Ellie revealed: "There are some belters left in the competition. The rest of the guys left in, I mean, all of them could end up in the final.

"But, I would probably say I am team Helen. Because I love her and I think it would be brilliant for her. She's done so well and she's really blossomed and it would be a brilliant end of the year for her.”

Lorraine added: "It would be great for her and it would be such a confidence boost. She's a great girl and she deserves it."

Helen has had a difficult year following the breakdown of her marriage with Richie Myler. Richie has found love again with Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of Leeds Rhinos’ president Andrew Thirkill.

The couple are also expecting their first child together. He already shares three young children with Helen. Helen has got plenty to keep her busy as the Strictly final is just weeks away the TV presenter is hoping to make it all the home and win the Glitterball.
