Strictly's Kai Widdrington devastated by dancer's death and reveals Britain's Got Talent past

Kai Widdrington has been left heartbroken by the death of fellow dancer and Dancing with The Stars Ireland professional; Kerri-Anne Donaldson, with the Strictly Come Dancing star revealing that they once appeared on Britain's Got Talent together, as he paid tribute.

At the end of last week, Kai, who will be back on Strictly for the new series ln the autumn, having won last year's Christmas special,. took to Instagram to share the sad news of Kerri's passing at the age of 38, writing: "Heartbroken to hear such sad news that my friend @kerri_annedonaldson is no longer with us. We shared some amazing moments together, memories that will last a lifetime. Your infectious smile will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to call you their friend. May you rest in peace"

Among the photos that Kai shared of himself and Kerri were two from their Britain's Got Talent audition, as party of dance act Kings and Queens, a moment many Strictly fans had no clue had even happened. Reacting to Kai's post, one wrote: "Sorry for the loss of your friend. I had no idea you performed on BGT, I actually remember this performance. I noticed another strictly star too."

Kai, who was a pro on Dancing With The Stars in Ireland before making the switch to Strictly, was inundated with support from celebs and fans alike, with B*Witched star Sinead O'Carroll replying to his post with a broken heart emoji, while one of his followers commented: "This is so sad.. Thinking of you and her family and friends."

Ex Strictly star Joanne Clifton also paid tribute to Kerri-Anne, writing: "She said: "I have no words… This is just heartbreaking.. truly devastating. We’ve known you and shared the dance floor with you basically all our lives. Dance up there with the angels Kerri.. you beautiful dancer, you beautiful soul."

.While Kai was the first pro to exit the BBC ballroom last year, as he and Loose Women presenter made an early exit, he went onto win at Christmas with ex Coronation Street actress Alexandra Mardell and then took home the overall winners' trophy for the Strictly live tour, after his and Helen Skelton's newly formed partnership paid off, with them winning the majority of shows on the nationwide jaunt.
