Strictly fans spot Will 'raging' over judges' 'harsh' comments about 'aggressive' dance

Strictly Come Dancing fans believed Will Mellor was secretly "raging" over comments from the judges on Sunday night.

While it appeared actor Will was deflated and disappointed with how his performance went, viewers were convinced he was "fuming" with the comments he received.

Will told dance partner Nancy Xu he had let her down, after their Paso Doble and their first routine of the night.

As Nancy and host Claudia Winkleman encouraged him that he had done well, Will confessed it was "all good" but he "felt rubbish" as he didn't do the routine as well as he had hoped to.

As the judges began giving their feedback, Will could not hide his disappointment that they were not impressed.

While Motsi Mabuse was impressed with the routine and his passion, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke all said it wasn't his best dance.

All noting mistakes, they detailed why it wasn't good enough for the semi-final and what needed to be improved.

As the scores came in, Will was visibly upset and blamed himself as he said Nancy had told him to be "calm", but he performed it "aggressively".

The judges had noted the aggression in the routine, while Anton suggested he "tried too hard" with it.

Viewers watching at home believed Will was annoyed at the feedback, and not just his performance, with one tweeting: "Will is raging."

Another fan tweeted: "Will is absolutely fuming," as a third added: "Will is not happy. The judges were a bit tough there, but it is the semi-final."

Others called out the judges, as one fan said: "The judges were so harsh on Will and Nancy and nice to everyone else."

It comes as the show was moved to a completely new slot, thanks to the World Cup coverage - with England facing France on Saturday night.

TV guides confirmed the schedule shake-up days before the show was due to air, while many fans were hoping to get their usual Saturday fix of the series.

Speaking about the schedule changes, the BBC had said in an earlier statement: " Strictly Come Dancing will continue to bring glitter, glamour and glorious dancing to homes across the nation throughout the 2022 FIFA World Cup."

Taking to Twitter, one person fumed: "I'm so mad that #Strictly is on next Sunday instead of Saturday".

A second stated: "Bloody annoying that the football takes priority on the schedule. First it being on a Friday, now the main show on a Sunday, it’s messing with my week #Strictly".

Strictly Come Dancing 2022’s grand final airs on Saturday, 17 December.
