Strictly fans complain moments into musicals week as they say 'it's so wrong'

Strictly Come Dancing fans complained moments into musicals week as they fume 'it's so wrong'.

The BBC One Latin and ballroom show returned for its latest instalment tonight, as the six remaining stars took on their musical tracks of choice as they prepared to give it their best go at making next week's semi-final. Kym Marsh and her partner Graziano di Prima made their return for the first time since they were given a bye after contracting Covid.

However, as the show began, fans were quick to complain, with frustrated viewers taking to Twitter to express their disappointment and annoyance as one viewer admitted they were confused.

The show began with a huge musical megamix (BBC)

"Nah #Strictly on a Friday has sent my whole weekend routine into chaos.," one fan shared.

A second added: "Strictly on a Friday? Feels so wrong #Strictly," whilst a third wrote: " #Strictly on a Friday... The World Cup in the middle of winter... Please tell me I'm not the only person who's getting completely disoriented by all this ...?"

"This is soo confusing putting Strictly on a Friday! #strictly," a fourth penned.

As part of Musicals Week, the six remaining celebrities will perform a routine to a much-loved musicals track.

Fleur and Vito will dance a Quickstep to I Got Rhythm from An American In Paris whilst Helen and Gorka will do their Couple's Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret. Back in the competition, Kym and Graziano will do a Cha Cha to Fame from the musical of the same name.

Molly and Carlos will dance a Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from Chicago whilst Hamza and Jowita will Samba to They Live In You from The Lion King. Will and Nancy will do a Foxtrot to Sun And Moon from Miss Saigon.

It's musical week on Strictly! (BBC)

On last week's show, it was time for Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe to leave the competition.

There were tears as Ellie praised her good friend Johannes and thanked him for their shared experience. She told him: "We’ve had so much fun. And to borrow an Anton-ism, let me tell you about you Johannes Radebe. You [Johannes] are as wonderful as everyone said you would be, and I’ve said you’re like human sunshine and you really really are.

"You see people and you saw me, at every point. I have been so worried and so out of my comfort zone and so self-conscious and so weird and you have said “embrace your weird Ellie”. You’ve done it so full-heartedly and without judgement. It’s been an absolute privilege to dance with you JoJo, I don’t know what runs through your body but it’s not blood, it’s rhythm and it’s music."
