Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden diagnosed with breast cancer at 32

A Strictly Come Dancing star and professional dancer has revealed that she has been diagnosed with an aggressive grade of breast cancer,aged just 32.

Amy Dowden, 32, shared on her social media that she had some news for fans that "isn't easy to share". The star went on to let people know she had recently been diagnosed with the disease, but she is determined to recover from it quickly.

Writing on Instagram, Amy said: "Hey all, I've got some news which isn't easy to share.

"I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but I'm determined to get back on that dance floor before you know it. Welsh love Amy x."

Fans and celebrities alike flocked to Amy's comments to share their messages of support and encouragement to the star.

Fellow Strictly dancer Dianne Buswell wrote: "Our Welsh dragon is going to fight this !!!! and I can not wait for the moment you are back on that dance floor with us.

"We love you so much Amy."

Former model and TV star Gemma Atkinson said: "We’re all Fighting behind you all the way Amy!!!!! Sending so much love to you."

Head Strictly judge Shirley Ballas wrote: "My precious girl. Nanny and I are thinking about you at this time.

"You are a strong example to so many of resilience which I’ve witnessed first hand. A beautiful kind and funny young lady who will face things head on. You are sooo loved.

"I’ll see you soon my darling friend hugs and lots of warm cuddles."

One Instagram user added: "Darling Amy, sending you all the healing strength and love."

Another said: "Sending you HUGE love and strength darling! Always here if you need anything at all."

And finally, one concluded: "I’m so sorry to hear this Amy. I am sure you must be facing a whirlwind of emotions right now. I was diagnosed aged 24 & 29, if you ever need to chat.

"There’s such an amazing cancer community on here if you’re in need of any support, if/when you feel ready. Lots of love to you and your family."
