Bookies have shared the odds on this year's Strictly Come Dancing winner with Bristol comedian Jayde Adams been given odds of 20/1. Helen Skelton, Fleur East and Will Mellor are currently favourites with odds of 7/2.
But viewers, and bookies, shouldn't underestimate Jayde. After her sister Jenna's death Jayde wrote a stand-up show which included tales of them entering disco dance competitions at Devon holiday camps.
While it is not exactly the Viennese Waltz or the Argentine Tango, it could be a sign Jayde has a natural talent for dance. The Bedminster-born comic is also an accomplished singer, a sign she has the all important "musicality" the judges are always talking about.
Will Mellor has made an early move up the betting as BoyleSports cut him into 5/1 from 9/1 to be crowned champion. Bros singer Matt Goss is rated the fourth most likely winner of the fifteen at 8/1, but former Arsenal captain Tony Adams will have to overcome odds of 33/1 to add the glitterball trophy to his roll of honour.
Jayde Adams has said that her beloved sister will be rooting for her from beyond the grave. Sadly her sister Jenna, who she danced with at childhood contests, died of a brain tumour 11 years ago. She was aged just 28 and had been studying contemporary dance at university.
In 2014 Jayde won the Funny Women award and in 2016 she was a nominee for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She has since been a panellist on Channel 4 ’s comedy quiz shows 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Helen Skelton and Fleur East have been made favourites for Strictly this year, but Will Mellor is standing out among the rest as a very lively contender. Some significant early support has forced us to make him 5/1 from 9/1 already, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility he could be favourite by the time it kicks off.”
