Strictly Come Dancing result sees Alex & Neil go home after incredibly close judges' vote

We’re just two weeks away from the Strictly Come Dancing grand final and the ballroom has claimed another casualty with the elimination of another couple after a nailbiting vote.

Strictly’s highly anticipated Musicals Week lived up to its billing, proving to be an all singing all dancing spectacular.

It even brought the first 40 of the series as Craig Revel-Horwood was finally persuaded to get his 10 out for Karim & Amy’s Jive.

At the other end of the leaderboard just a point separated Alex & Neil and Chris & Karen at the bottom and it was those two couples who found themselves in the Dance Off this weekend.

In a first for this series that meant there was no shock result like ones over the past few months that have caused a social media storm.

For Chris & Karen, the Dance-Off it was another chance to do their Foxtrot to Oliver classic Consider Yourself, while Alex & Neil got to reprise their Samba to Joyful Joyful from Sister Act 2.

In the end it was to be Alex & Neil’s last Strictly performance.

However the decision had to rest with head judge Shirley Ballas, after Craig and Motzi both opted to save Alex & Neil and Bruno went with Chris & Karen, before Shirley agreed with him.

That means they join the safe couples in next week’s semi-final, where each of them will perform two dances.
