There is a rather bizarre and very obvious trend amongst some of the contestants for Strictly Come Dancing this year and it hasn't taken fans of the show long to pick up on it.
After lots of speculation as to who might be foxtrotting their way into the BBC ballroom for the new series, the Strictly line-up for 2022 has now been confirmed in full. Stars taking part this year include early bookies favourite, X Factor finalist Fleur East; EastEnders actor Jame Bye, Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds and ex Hear'Say member Kym Marsh, who later went onto appear behind the bar of the Rovers Return as Michelle in Coronation Street.
Other names on the list of dancing celebs for Strictly's latest run include Two Pints of Lager favourite Will Mellor, pop icon Matt Goss and TV presenter Helen Skelton. They are joined by the likes of ex Arsenal captain Tony Adams, comic Jayde Adams and Loose Women anchor Kaye Adams.
And it's the names of those three that have given Strictly one of the most bizarre trends in its 18 year history - they all have the same second name! Now, while they were announced at different stages of the 10 day contestant reveal process, once looking at the list in full, many viewers were quick to comment on that glaringly obvious fact.
One took to Twitter to react: "On strictly three people so far called Adams. Nicola Adams also did the show and left before. Why have three people with the same surname that's foolish people will confuse them!"
Also referencing the fact that Ellie Simmonds isn't the only Ellie to sign up, with TV star Ellie Taylor also taking part, a second tweeted: "Hang on hang on hang on. Let me see if I’ve got this straight. There are THREE #Strictly contestants this year with the surname Adams? Jayde, Kaye and Tony? Did the booker get bored on the first tab of the talent list!??! Also two Ellies. Come on guys."
A third posted: "Strictly managing to cast three separate people with the surname Adams, ok."
