Strictly Come Dancing James Jordan slams pros 'unwilling to get covid vaccine'

Strictly Come Dancing has been thrown into chaos after three professional dancers have reportedly refused to get their Covid vaccination.

Ex-pros James Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff appeared on today's Good Morning Britain to discuss the latest issue to hit this season of the dancing competition.

James, who appeared on the BBC show from 2006-2013, blasted the unvaccinated dancers as selfish and said they are putting the health of the other contestants at risk.

He said: "I normally would protect the professional dancers until the cows come home but on this occasion I can't unfortunately.

"I just think it's a really selfish thing to do. On previous years of Strictly, you're working so hard and training so hard that everyone's immune system gets very low and lots of people get sick anyway.

"So if you're immune system is low - and it's very close contact on Strictly - then you're much more at risk of spreading something like that."

James went on to say the dancers should be axed from the show as people's lives are at stake - but Kristina Rihanoff shot back and said people shouldn't be forced to get the vaccine.

She said: "We’re not living in Soviet Russia, you cannot force us.

BBC should’ve done their job prior when hiring those dancers.”

The Russian dancer said she would have no problem performing with a dancer who was unvaccinated.

The fiery clash erupted as the two dancers continued to disagree on the issue.

Responding to the speculation, the BBC said: "We do not comment on speculation of somebody’s COVID vaccination status.

"Strictly Come Dancing production has, and will, continue to follow strict government guidelines to ensure the safety of all on the show."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVHub
