Strictly Come Dancing fans think couples have 'advantage' as song and dances revealed for BBC 100 special

The Strictly Come Dancing ballroom may have only just been emptied for another week but fans of the show are already discussing the upcoming week after the latest song and dance choices were revealed.

This weekend, the hit dance contest will be celebrating 100 years of the BBC. The show will open with an epic group number that see the Strictly professionals and judges gatecrash some of the biggest BBC flagship shows. And for the first time ever, the remaining 12 couples will perform to either an iconic BBC theme tune or dance in tribute to one of the BBC’s most loved services.

Some of the dance choices were revealed during Sunday night's result show, with Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman revealing that Tony Adams and his partner Katya Jones will be performing a Charleston to the Grandstand theme tune while Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe will get their groove on to the Casualty title track.

It has now been confirmed that they'll dance a Tango to the medical drama's title track. Meanwhile, Helen Skelton will also be bringing a blast from her past as she and partner Gorka Marquez perform a Charleston to the Blue Peter theme tune. Also performing a Charleston is Jayde Adams and her partner Karen Hauer and they're song choice is The Ballad Of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It) made famous by Victoria Wood.

Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin will dance a Paso Doble to Montagues and Capulets, celebrating The Apprentice while Tyler West and Dianne Buswell will perform a Tango to Doctor Who theme tune. It may come as no surprise that James Bye and his parter Amy Dowden will dance a Foxtrot to the EastEnders theme tune, Will Mellor and Nancy Xu will perform a Viennese Waltz to Line of Duty's end titles and Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu will take to the ballroom with their Couples’ Choice to the Grange Hill theme tune.

But some of the couples will be dancing to actual songs. Fleur East and Vito Coppola will dance a Jive to Waterloo by ABBA in celebration of Eurovision while Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima will perofrm a Quickstep to Ballroom Blitz by Sweet. And Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał will also perform a Quickstep but to On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons, celebrating BBC's nature programming.

And fans think those dancing to normal songs have an 'advantage'. @tracie_mae commented: "Really weird theme ! Fleur and Kim have actual songs so they’re at an advantage I feel. Wonder if they’re gonna sing the lyrics to the Eastenders song and will there be a flying sausage for the Grange Hill one lol."

@_charlottegrix shared: "Don't think it's fair that a couple of them have songs rather than theme tunes." Sarah Rushby wrote on Facebook: "A litttttttttle bit unfair that some couples get standard songs because they represent an era (Eurovision and Abba for example) in comparision to the non-lyric based songs that others are going to do... it'll be interesting to see who is in the bottom two and if its based on what they were given...

Others, however, were quick to point out which iconic shows and their theme tunes that were missing from the line-up. @sophtommo said: "NO PEAKY BLINDERS?!?!?!?!" @katiexxdavies18 cried: "No only fools and horses." @hayleylouisephd wrote: "Can’t believe we’re not getting the best ever theme song which is Red Dwarf." @l_devine25 added: "No Top of the Pops? Justin's House? Walking with Dinosaurs? At least Eurovision is in the mix - let's hope Craig doesn't give a nul points."
