Strictly Come Dancing fans spot crucial change in dance-off that saw AJ saved

Strictly Come Dancing fans believe they spotted a crucial change in the latest dance-off.

The five remaining couples took to the ballroom on Saturday night in a bid to make it one step closer to the big final.

This week, Dan Walker and professional partner Nadiya Bychkova found themselves in the dance-off for the very first time against AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington.

The couples performed their dances - a tango and a salsa - in a bid to remain in the BBC One contest and compete in the semi-final next weekend.

Sadly, it was Dan who became the tenth celebrity to leave the competition after the judges unanimously voted to save AJ.

But fans believe they noticed a change to AJ and Kai's routine after suffering a slip-up during their first performance on Saturday night.

The TV presenter and her professional partner found themselves with the second-lowest score following Saturday's show after fumbling a mishap at the end of their Salsa.

Craig Revel Horwood told an upset AJ that the ending was "a complete dance disaster darling" while Anton Du Beke said he "couldn't bear" the final part of the routine.

As AJ and Kai performed the routine again, fans flocked to social media after making an observation.

"Did anyone else notice that AJ and Kai did a different final lift? She didn't go over his head like she did when they flubbed it," @unenthusiasticspatula noted.

@Tor15an also asked: "Did AJ & Kai change the last lift?? It looked different from last night."

"Was that the same lift AJ and Kai did? #strictly Looked different. They were fabulous though," @bubbledom123 echoed.

@TimBuckle added: "Did AJ and Kai change the lift at the end? I know there was no mistake but it still seemed different to what they tried on Saturday #strictly."

However, @strictlynatt argued: "For everyone saying that Aj and Kai - changed the lift. It is the same lift but he didn’t take her hand so she had to put her leg on his shoulder and they had to move on. Have a nice sleep when Aj and Kai are in semifinal #Strictly #SCD #Strictlycomedancing."

And @sian_davies_xx added: "Why does everyone think Aj and Kai changed their lift at the end? They literally just managed to achieve it! That’s why it looked different cause Aj wasn’t clinging on for dear life #Strictly."

Judge Craig commented during the results: "AJ, you totally nailed that last bit, that was fantastic, a dilemma, but the couple I am going to save is AJ and Kai."

AJ was left in tears after her and Kai's Salsa to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine on Saturday.

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman after receiving her comments from the judges, the 33-year-old said: "I'm so gutted because we worked so hard this week.

"I'm going to get emotional. We have worked so hard this week and everyone at home... I just hope that you feel like I haven't let you down. I'm so sorry!"

EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, Bake Off winner John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, and CCBC host Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu all also remain in the competition for the semi-finals.
