Strictly stars Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis lead glamour ahead of first stage show

The stars of the Strictly Come Dancing tour have been pictured ahead of tonight's debut show.

The live shows of the popular BBC series kick off in Birmingham this evening, and some of the celebrity contestants and professional dancers have been snapped making their way to one last training session before the grand debut.

Katya Jones, John Whaite, and champions Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis are just a few of the stars who have been snapped leaving their hotel in Birmingham just hours before they're due to perform on stage for the first time this evening.

Nadiya Bychkova was also pictured with a huge smile on her face ahead of the live shows - just days after it was revealed she has ended her engagement to footballer Matija Škarabot.

The professional dancer - who was partnered with BBC presenter Dan Walker on the show last year - looked super chic as she walked around in an eye-catching blue and white coat and sunglasses on Thursday.

Strictly Come Dancing runners up John and professional dance partner Johannes Radebe grabbed a coffee as they headed out for one final training session together before they reunite on stage in Birmingham.

The pair made history as the first all-male dance duo to compete on the BBC series last year - making it all the way to the final in December and finishing worthy runners up.

Reigning champions Giovanni and Rose looked excited before their reunion on stage - both snapped grinning as they left the hotel.

EastEnders actress Rose appeared to be in high spirits as she was pictured in a casual outfit consisting of a black puffer coat, sweat pants and colourful jumper.

Professional dancer Giovanni - who lifted the Glitterball trophy for the first time in his Strictly career last month - cut a handsome figure as she walked around in shades, a cap and a smart black coat.

Also spotted out and about were Tilly Ramsay and former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith.

Tilly, 20, recently returned from a lavish family holiday in the Maldives, and seemed to be adjusting to the colder weather back in Britain on Thursday.

Strolling alongside Maisie as they left their hotel in Birmingham, the CBBC presenter wrapped up against the cold in a cosy bright blue tracksuit with a designer bag hanging off her shoulder.

In contrast, Maisie flashed a glimpse of her toned midriff as she rocked a retro velour pink boob-tube tracksuit - complete with a dark blue jacket, white ear muff and sunglasses.

Tilly will be dancing in the live shows with her partner from the show Nikita Kuzmin, while Maisie, 20, will be stepping in to team up with professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

The former EastEnders actress stepped in at the last minute to partner with the Strictly star after AJ Odudu was forced to pull out of the live shows due to her ongoing foot injury.

AJ, 33, and Kai, 26, had made it all the way to the grand final of the BBC show last month but were heartbreakingly forced to forfeit due to the TV presenter suffering ligament damage to her ankle during a training session.

Despite being hopeful she would be fit enough for the country wide tour, AJ was replaced on the upcoming live shows by 2020 contestant Maisie.

The actress competed in the eighteenth series of the ballroom dancing show alongside partner Gorka Marquez, reaching the final but losing out to Bill Bailey who lifted the Glitterball trophy with pro Oti Mabuse.

Earlier this week, Maisie revealed how AJ gave her blessing for the actress to quickstep in at the eleventh hour and take her place for the live shows.

"I spoke to AJ and she told me: 'Don't worry, I'm just excited that you and Kai [Widdrington] both get to perform'," Maisie explained to HELLO! magazine.

"That was nice and reassuring because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes."
