Strictly awkward! Neil and Katya Jones are joined by... Seann Walsh on red carpet

Katya and Neil Jones came close to an awkward run-in with Seann Walsh as they all made their first red carpet appearance since that scandalous kiss.

The trio stepped out to celebrate the inspiring men, women and children who have carried out extraordinary feats for the Pride of Britain Awards.

Katya and Neil arrived together in colour co-ordinating black outfits, with Neil in a suit and Katya dazzling in a floor length gown.

The pair were all smiles despite the fact Katya was pictured passionately kissing Walsh during a boozy night out after Strictly training earlier this month.

The comedian is believed to have arrived minutes after the couple, who have been married for five years, and made a joke about their kiss.

Walsh stood in front of a sea of photographers, referring to them as his “friends” and sarcastically claiming they had been “so nice” to him in recent weeks.

“My best friends,” he said. “I love all of you. You’ve been so nice to me in the last few weeks. Thank you very much.”

The trio’s appearance came as Ed Balls, who was partnered with Katya in 2016, claimed she was “always arguing” with her husband.

Asked if there would be tension between the married couple if Neil was partnered with a celebrity for the Strictly Christmas special, Balls said: “That would be my guess.”

Speaking to the Mirror he said: “I know when they competed together in the world championships they were always arguing until the final minutes.

“So I don’t think it will be any different if they have different partners. That would be my guess.”

The Pride of Britain Awards, hosted by Carol Vorderman, attracted hundreds of the nation’s biggest names including Sir Cliff Richards, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Myleene Klass and Ellie Goulding.
