A 20-year-old man was left needing stitches to his face after a homophobic attack in east London.

The victim, 20, was approached by an unknown man while at a bar in The Grove, Stratford, about 11pm on Friday, August 19.

About midnight, the unknown man began to make homophobic comments towards the victim, and he walked away from the man and sat down at another table.

A short time later, the victim was hit by a glass on the chin.

He was taken to hospital where he was given stitches.

On Friday, The Met released a photo of a man they wish to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.

The incident came just two days after another violent homophobic attack in London saw a 25-year-old man kicked, beaten and stripped by a gang who tried to throw him in the Thames.
