
French police on Thursday shot and killed the suspected gunman behind Tuesday’s deadly attack on Strasbourg’s Christmas market, several police sources said.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old French national Chérif Chekatt, had been on the run for two days before he was found and killed in Strasbourg’s Neudorf/Meinau district.
Three people were killed, and more than a dozen others were injured in the Christmas market shooting on Tuesday. The suspect is believed to have acted alone.
