Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown says she was bullied so badly that she had to change schools.
The actress, who plays Eleven in the hit Netflix show, now wants to stand up against bullying after going through it herself.
The 15-year-old, who rose to fame after shaving her head for her role, told Glamour magazine : "I was bullied at school back in England. So, it’s extremely important for me to speak out against bullying.
"I actually switched schools because of it, it created a lot of anxiety and issues that I still deal with today. I have dealt with situations both in real life and online that are soul breaking and it genuinely hurts reading some of the things people have said."
Millie will return to her role soon as Stranger Things comes back for series three.
On what fans can expect, the star said: "There’s not much I can say. But I can say it’s one of the most important things in my life.
"I am so excited about it because I worked really hard on it. It’s like my baby. I shaved my hair off for it, so ever since then it’s become one of my favourite projects I have ever done."
Millie, who was recently named an ambassador of Unicef Goodwill, also spoke about her first feature film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and how important it was for her to be treated as an adult while filming.
She said: "On a set I don’t want to be treated as a minor – although I am, I am not there to just be treated like a child, I am there to be treated as a co-worker and my opinion be treated as such.
"You know, you are a man, I am a girl but that doesn’t matter, our opinions are equally as important as each other."
