Family attractions, markets and all of Nottingham's parks are among the locations that have been forced to announce closures due to the incoming Storm Eunice.
The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for parts of the UK on Friday, February 18, and said there could be “flying debris resulting in danger to life”.
Storm Eunice is expected to bring winds of up to 70mph in Nottingham, with East Midlands Railway urging customers not to travel at all.
The warnings prompted a swathe of closure announcements across the city and the wider county on Thursday (February 17). This includes:
Wollaton Hall
The hall and park will be closed throughout Friday as a "precaution".
Councillor Zafran Kahn, who represents the Wollaton West on Nottingham City Council for Labour, said in a tweet: "Wollaton Hall and Deer Park will be closed tomorrow, Friday February 18, as a precaution for high winds caused by Storm Eunice."
Nottingham Castle
The popular city attraction will shut the Lower Bailey and Hood's Hideout Adventure Play facilities throughout Friday to "ensure staff and visitor safety".
People with pre-booked tickets are able to reschedule their visit.
Nottingham parks
Nottingham City Council announced that all of its parks would be closed because of Storm Eunice on Friday.
This includes the Aboretum, Colwick Country Park, Forest Recreation Ground, Highfields Park, Woodthorpe Grange Park and Valley Road Park.
Sherwood Forest
The visitor centre and car parks at the famous woodland have been closed according to Nottinghamshire County Council, which say it's "important to stay away from wooded areas, parks and footpaths" during stormy conditions.
Other country parks to close across Nottinghamshire include Rutford Abbey, Holme Pierrepont and Bestwood Country Parks.
Bulwell and Clifton markets
The decision to close both street markets in Bulwell and Clifton was made in light of the upcoming storm.
They are expected to reopen on Saturday morning.

Newstead Abbey
The historic abbey and gardens will close its doors throughout the whole of Friday.
Newstead Abbey tweeted: "Newstead Abbey & Gardens is closed Friday, February 18, as a precaution for high winds caused by Storm Eunice.
"Any pre-booked visitors are being contacted as their ticket will be honoured & may visit on an alternative date."
Green's Windmill
The Sneinton windmill will be closed to visitors, forcing the cancellation of its half term activity, according to a tweet from the city council.
The red weather warning has been issued along the coastline of Devon and Cornwall as well as the south coast of Wales due to extremely strong winds.
Mansfield Market
The town's market will not open on Friday due to the expected strong winds.
Meanwhile, an amber warning remains in place for most of England - including Nottinghamshire - and all of Wales as Storm Eunice arrives on our shores from Friday morning.
The warnings are in place all day Friday until 9pm.
It comes after Strom Dudley resulted in a number of fallen trees in Wollaton and Ruddington, as well as in Mansfield.
