A severe weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Glasgow this weekend, with ‘flooding of homes and businesses possible’, according to the Met Office.

The yellow alert comes after forecasters issued an earlier warning for wind in advance of Storm Ciara's arrival over the weekend.

As reported on Glasgow Live, Storm Ciara is set to bring gale force winds to the city on Saturday and Sunday, and then on Monday and Tuesday Met Office forecasters are predicting snow and strong winds.

Now they are also advising Glaswegians to gear up for a wash out too, with the forecast showing heavy rain throughout both Saturday and Sunday.
