Storm Atiyah: When will the worst of the storm hit Dublin as Yellow Warning in place

It's already getting quite windy across the city as Dublin braces itself for Storm Atiyah to hit.

The worst of the storm is expected to hit on Sunday with gusts of up to 130km/h are expected in parts of the country.

A Yellow Weather Warning is in place for Dublin from 7pm this evening until 1pm on Sunday with winds of up to 110km/h in places and a chance of heavy showers tonight.

Met Eireann say: "Sunday will be a very windy day, with storm Atiyah.

"Southwest to westerly winds will reach gale force and severe gale gusts in many areas, strongest in the afternoon and evening with potentially damaging gusts.

"There will be blustery squally showers throughout the day.

"Many of the showers will be heavy some of hail and thunder. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.

"Westerly winds will veer northwesterly later in the day with gale force winds continuing and severe gale to storm force winds on coasts."

It will continue to be very windy on Sunday night with strong to gale force west to northwest winds and some strong gusts.

The wind will gradually ease off on Monday  mainly dry with sunshine developing and afternoon temperature of 7 to 9C.
