Drivers in the Bearsden area are being urged to take extra caution today after a tree was blown down on top of a busy road.
Photos shared with Glasgow Live show a large tree having fallen over Canniesburn Road in the south of the town, which serves as a key access road between Bearsden and the north of Glasgow.
At the time of writing, drivers can still travel through the area, however there are fears the tree could fall on the road at any moment. Both Police Scotland and East Dunbartonshire Council have been made aware.
The incident comes after Storm Arwen battered much of Scotland overnight.
Glasgow appears to have avoided the worst of the windy weather, despite Met Office warnings having been issued for the city, however other areas - particularly on the east coast - were harder hit.
Trains remain disrupted this afternoon, with several earlier services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley significantly impacted.
Issuing a warning about the situation on Canniesburn Road, a local resident told Glasgow Live: "If you look at the pictures you will see the tree is in a position that probably in a second can fall on a person or a car and easily cause serious problems for residents and road users!"
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "We were made aware around 11.30am today and the local authority are aware."
East Dunbartonshire Council have been contacted for comment.
