A suspected stolen Audi "narrowly" missed other cars and mounted pavements during a police chase.
At around 4.45pm on Monday, officers observed a suspected stolen blue Audi A3 on Hawthorne Road in Bootle. The people inside the car failed to stop and drove off at speed.
During the five-minute police pursuit, the car travelled at speed through traffic, narrowly missing cars and had mounted the pavement with no consideration for public safety, police said.

The chase ended on Galsworthy Avenue in Bootle when the car mounted the pavement and came to a stop on a grassed area.
Police have arrested a number of people following the pursuit.
A 27-year-old man from Bootle has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop and drug driving.
A 23-year-old man from Waterloo and an 18-year-old male from Netherton were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
All three suspects have been released under investigation.
