'Stolen' Audi dodged traffic and mounted pavement in high-speed police chase

A suspected stolen Audi "narrowly" missed other cars and mounted pavements during a police chase.

At around 4.45pm on Monday, officers observed a suspected stolen blue Audi A3 on Hawthorne Road in Bootle. The people inside the car failed to stop and drove off at speed.

During the five-minute police pursuit, the car travelled at speed through traffic, narrowly missing cars and had mounted the pavement with no consideration for public safety, police said.

A 23-year-old man from Waterloo and an 18-year-old male from Netherton were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
