Stockton battens down the hatches

Work to reinforce Stockton foreshore continued on Monday morning ahead of a predicted large swell.

Crews worked across the weekend to reinforce erosion hot spots at Barrie Crescent and along Mitchell Street.

In addition the the existing erosion points, new erosion occurred in front of Stockton caravan park over the weekend.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a low-pressure system will stay close to the coast on Monday putting the Hunter coast under renewed pressure.

High tide will occur at 1.45pm.
