Stocks in news: Paytm, LIC, Airtel, BSE and ONGC

Markets kicked off the week on a strong note on Monday, with benchmark indices extending their gains amid easing crude oil prices, encouraging quarterly earnings, and sustained buying in financial heavyweights. Technically, analysts say the Nifty has strengthened its bullish structure by decisively surpassing the key resistance zone of 24,400, which coincides with the 200-day DEMA. This breakout reinforces the ongoing recovery and opens the door for a move towards the 25,000–25,200 zone in the near term.

In today's trade, shares of Paytm, LIC, Airtel, BSE, ONGC among others will be in focus due to various news developments and first quarter results.

Three investors in One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, are looking to sell shares worth up to Rs 2,002 crore through a screen-based transaction on Indian stock exchanges. The transaction is a 100% secondary share sale, which means the company will not receive any money from the deal. The shares will be sold by Saif Partners India IV, Saif III Mauritius Company and Elevation Capital V, according to the term sheet.

LIC

The government will open an offer for sale in Life Insurance Corp (LIC) on Tuesday for non-retail investors, as it moves to reduce its stake in the country's largest insurer and meet minimum public shareholding milestones ahead of schedule. Retail investors will be able to bid on Wednesday.

Half of the 1.75 million tonnes petroleum storage facility being developed by state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) at Mangaluru will be reserved for strategic petroleum reserves, while the remaining capacity will be used for commercial operations, the government said on Monday.

No-frills airline IndiGo will bet on a small business class on its long-haul flights to Europe, and a high-density economy layout in an effort to sell more seats than rival Air India and protect its lean cost structure.
