A man has admitted carrying a chainsaw in a Plean street without reasonable excuse.
Alexander Campbell, of Cowane Street, Stirling, had the offensive weapon in Gillespie Terrace, Old Plean, on April 24, 2021.
The 40-year-old had also pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at a Plean address on the same date.

His not guilty pleas to charges of throwing a brick at a man at an Old Plean address and stealing thermometers, a golf ball, a toolbox and chainsaws – at a location between Forth Valley Hospital and Plean – without attempting to discover the true owner of the items were accepted by the Crown.
Campbell did not appear for sentence at Stirling Sheriff Court on Wednesday. His solicitor told Sheriff Derek Hamilton that Campbell was not in court as he had tested positive for Covid. There had also been “some sort of mix up” regarding reports previously requested by the court.
Sheriff Hamilton further deferred sentence on Campbell until November 2 for the criminal justice social work report and restriction of liberty order assessment previously requested.
