Stills life: Noel Clarke

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
What film have you seen most often?
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I'm a big fan of Kevin Smith - Clerks is one of the movies that got me into films in the first place. I love all of his films and even name my characters after his characters.

The Omen
What scares you?
The Omen. Monsters are fine, but I can't stand that devil stuff. To this day I hate the name Damien. In fact my producer is called Damien and I've always got a club in my hand, in case he does something strange.

The Hottie and the Nottie
What angers you?
Cameos by no-talent pop stars and heiresses, like Paris Hilton or Birmingham Marriott. Actors work so hard, they graft for years and years, and then the part goes to some ditzy girl who can't even spell her own name. You know what? Go back to your sex tapes.

Forrest Gump

I have a strange sense of humour. You know the bit where Forrest Gump is a kid and gets a stone bounced off his head? Me and my cousin were in hysterics at that.

The Bourne Ultimatum
What excites you?
The Bourne films. I mean, Bond is exceptionally cool. But Jason Bourne is like a normal guy, which makes what he does seem all the more cool.

Happiness
What makes you cry?
I don't cry in movies, I don't know why. But one film that moved me was Todd Solondz's Happiness - the bit with the father and his son. That moved me and bugged me. It's a fantastic film.

Y Tu Mama Tambien
What turns you on?
Y Tu Mama Tambien is quite a sexy film. I like films where you don't have to see everything. I'm less sure about films like Lie With Me or Lust, Caution where the people actually have sex. Isn't that what you have actors for?

Pulp Fiction
If you were a baddie, who would you be?
Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction! 'Mmm, this is a tasty burger.' Now there's a villain who's cool.

There Will Be Blood
What's the best landscape you've seen on film?
I like those westerns set in Arizona, Monument Valley - like Tombstone. Out of the more recent films, There Will Be Blood had some good landscapes in it.

Adulthood
Which actor would do you wish you looked like?
Myself. Am I allowed to say that? I'm comfortable with who I am. That's what we have to teach people. Be comfortable with who you are.

The Shawshank Redemption
What's the best film you've never seen?
The Shawshank Redemption. I have this weird thing, that if I buy DVDs I'll watch them, but if someone else buys them for me, I always feel affronted. A friend bought me The Shawshank Redemption three years ago and it's still in my pile. Apparently it's fantastic.
