Steven Saunders completes East Kilbride move as Scotland cap becomes latest star signing

Steven Saunders has completed his move to East Kilbride in the latest signing coup for the fifth tier side.

Lanarkshire Live Sport revealed yesterday that Saunders, 29, is in talks with the K-Park club about the move and boss Stevie Aitken hoped to complete the deal imminently.

Kilby have now got the deal for the Rutherglen-born defender over the line as he leaves West of Scotland League side Gartcairn.

Saunders played under K-Park gaffer Aitken at Dumbarton and had spells with Ross County, Livingston and Partick Thistle in Scotland, and The New Saints in Wales.

He also earned a Scotland cap while breaking through early in his career at Motherwell in a 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands in 2010.

Saunders becomes the latest star name to make the move to the Lowland League outfit joining the likes of Chris Erskine, Kyle Hutton and Paul Paton.
