Steven Gerrard reveals Alfredo Morelos Rangers disciplinary progress as he raves over 'clinical' frontman

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard insists it's natural for teams to be interested in star striker Alfredo Morelos and insists he's learning from his disciplinary problems - during an interview with Jude's Journey.

A host of English Premier League clubs are reported to be keen on the Colombian striker after a 29-goal haul in all competitions this season.

And Liverpool legend Gerrard believes the 23-year-old has made progress on the poor discipline that has at times blighted his Rangers career.

But the English manager revealed Morelos is treated just the same as the rest of the Ibrox squad.

Speaking to the Jude's Journey YouTube channel, Gerrard said: "What I do is I manage all the players the same way.

"I try and show them honesty and respect and be there to support and guide them as much as I can.

"Now, you're talking about an incredible goalscorer, his volume of goals over the two seasons, or the season and three-quarters that we've played.

"He's always been a heavy and consistent goalscorer and that's the reason why there's always a lot of attention around Alfredo.

"And yeah, I think Alfredo has been open himself at times to say he's got things slightly wrong.

"But he's a human being, these things happen, the important thing for me is that I see signs that he's trying to learn and get better.

"I've certainly seen signs of that but in terms of the player and the goalscorer he's obviously a fantastic talent.

"I think the team have provided some fantastic opportunities for him, some of the service from out wide and the through balls played into him have been fantastic as well.

"I think it's important to recognise some of the team play we've had but when he does get a chance he's clinical.

"And that's the reason why he's scored such a big volume over two years and there's a lot of interest around these types of players - that's normal."
