Steven Gerrard is heading back to Rangers as manager and has named his two assistants, it is being reported.
In recent days, Gers chiefs had whittled their options down a final two in the shape of Gerrard and Russell Martin, but the latter looks set to take over at Leicester City to leave the path open for the 44-year-old.
TalkSPORT broadcaster Jim White is now claiming that Gerrard IS the man and will complete an incredible return to Ibrox almost four years after quitting his first spell to take over at Aston Villa.
Furthermore, it is claimed he will be bringing Rangers legend Steven Davis and ex-Liverpool star Jordan Henderson in as his assistants.
Davis played under him during his first spell in Glasgow while he signed Henderson for Saudi side Al-Ettifaq having been teammates at Anfield.

White said: ”Back to the football club, it’s understood, will come Steven Gerrard.
”And alongside Steven Gerrard, former Rangers player Steven Davis, and alongside the two of them, as an assistant to Gerrard and Davis, Jordan Henderson.”
The Reds and England hero was unable to make a success of things at Villa, later transformed by successor Unai Emery. He was also sacked by Al-Ettifaq after less than two years.
His previous time at Rangers can be viewed as a success by looking at the fact he won the title in 2020/21, stopping Celtic's 10-in-a-row bid and delivering the club's only league success in 14 years.
However, on the flip side it was the only trophy he lifted during his three years in charge.
It will be hoped he can end the Hoops' title dominance once again though and this time will hope to be backed in the transfer market after the US takeover goes through.
As well as Gerrard and Martin, names like Davide Ancelotti, Sean Dyche, Gary O'Neil and Rob Edwards were all thought to have been in the running.
