Steven Gerrard fires warning to Rangers future opponents as three key men have yet to hit peak form

Steven Gerrard has fired a warning to Rangers' future opponents and said that three of his key men are yet to hit peak form and fitness.

The Ibrox boss said his team aren't at their ruthless, clinical best yet – and that's despite beating Dundee United 4-0.

Goals from Kemar Roofe, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield and James Tavernier, plus another clean sheet, were enough to keep Gerrard satisfied.

However he says there's still a lot more to come from his team.

He said: "We're not relentless yet. If there's one criticism, or area to improve, it's to be more clinical and more rutheless.

"Over the course of the games we've played so far, today we showed signs and could have went on and got five and six.

"But if you look at the games collectively, once we get Itten 100 per cent, Roofe 100 per cent, Alfredo 100 per cent, then I think it could be interesting."

While there are some key men yet to hit peak form, the Rangers manager is delighted with the partnership being struck up between Kent and Ianis Hagi.

The pair linked up for Rangers' opening goal at the weekend, and Gerrard said: "Him [Kent] and Ianis are linking up really well. Playing close together. Little combinations around the box.

"It was a wonderful goal, people will say it's an individual goal but don't forget the part Ianis played in that as well."
