Steve Spurrier throws some shots at Dan Snyder

Steve Spurrier isn’t afraid to talk about much — including his brief tenure with the Washington Redskins.

Spurrier spent two years with the Redskins starting in 2012, working his way to a 12-20 record.

But while Spurrier is quick to note he didn’t do a great job, he had a few words for Dan Snyder, too, according to the Washington Post’s Eric Adelson:

Spurrier blames himself … kind of.

“I did a lousy job,” he says. “The GM did a lousy job. He happened to be the owner, so who needed to go?”

It turns out Spurrier wasn’t thrilled with the decision to draft Patrick Ramsey, though we’ll never know how things would have gone if he had had full control of that decision.

These days, Spurrier serves as head coach for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. Understandably, this probably isn’t the last fans will hear about him and the Redskins now that he’s back in the spotlight.
