Scotland boss Steve Clarke has thanked "top coach" Jose Mourinho for backing him and agrees his side can reach the Euro 2020 knockout stages.
The national team manager was assistant to Mourinho in his first spell at Chelsea, helping to win back-to-back Premier League titles.
The Portuguese predicted on Saturday that Clarke could take Scotland through a tricky Euro 2020 group featuring the Czech Republic, England and Croatia.
And the Scotland boss is feeling confident about the team's chances as he thanked his mentor.
Clarke said: "I think he's probably looking at the quality of player we've got in the squad.
"It's nice when a top coach - and make no mistake, Mourinho 's a top coach, it was a big part of my development working with Jose, so I'm pleased to hear those words.
"He's looking at the all-round strength, the players we've got in the squad, the results we've had recently.
"And yeah there's a good chance we can come out of the group.
"But we have to make sure we get our preparations right, we have to make sure we get everything right on the day when we play those games, and we have to get the points required to get to the next stage."
