Stephen A. Smith recently made some strong indirect comments against another person in sports media, but it may not be too difficult to decipher who the comments were for.
During "The Stephen A. Smith Show" on Oct. 11, Smith addressed his situation involving Marcellus Wiley who accused Smith of pushing out his former "First Take" partner from ESPN in large part because he was shocked by Kellerman's intelligence.
"The only thing that I would say to [Wiley] is 'bro, really? A Black man is scared of the intelligence of a white dude, really?' In the year 2023, we're going to say something like that?" Smith said.
Smith denied being afraid of anybody in terms of intellect because he either believes he's smarter than someone or learns from the intelligence of others to improve his own intellect.
He went on by saying that he respects the former NFL player, saying that he's willing to address his comments but not the ones of another person who Smith said he wanted to keep nameless. He then went on to take some strong indirect jabs at this person.
"I think he's a fat, no-good bastard who I despite to the core," Smith said.
Smith clarified that he was not referring to Wiley nor his "former colleague at 'First Take,'" who is likely Kellerman.
"They are not fat bastards who are seeds of the devil wishing nothing but Black folks harm," Smith said. "But I'll leave that for another day, for when the time is right."

While Smith did not say who he was referring to, he said it isn't hard to figure it out. The comments section called out another sports media personality — Jason Whitlock — as the person Smith is referring to.
Whitlock, who has been known for pushing conservative ideologies in the sports media space, mentioned in his show "Fearless" over three weeks ago that he is willing to "expose" Smith's new colleague Shannon Sharpe over his behavior at FS1.
"Shannon Sharpe needs to cut it out. I know what happened at FS1. And if Shannon and Stephen A. keep pushing this agenda, I'm going to expose all that I know. And I know all of it," Whitlock said.
Sharpe left FS1's "Undisputed" in June and has since joined Smith on "First Take." Sharpe has said that he felt disrespected while at FS1 which was one of the triggers to him leaving.
