Our friends over at Touchdown Wire have put together their ranking of every NFL uniform. Obviously, a ranking like this is completely subjective and we all know that every Pittsburgh Steelers fan is going to consider their team’s uniforms as among the best. But unfortunately, Touchdown Wire didn’t see it that way as they have them checking in at No. 13 on their list. You can check out the whole thing right here.
They do pay respect to the fact the color scheme is a classic and carries over through all three of their professional sports teams. But what makes the Steelers uniform great is the fact over the past 50 plus years it has been largely unchanged. Yes, I know many of you miss the block-style numbers and would love to see them back fulltime.
In the big picture, the fact the Steelers haven’t felt a need to make any huge changes in their uniforms is just another testament to the stability of the franchise. Most teams that swap out styles are looking for a way to excite the fanbase when the play of the field isn’t doing it.
