According to NFL reporter Mike Garafolo, former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Tyler Matakevich is signing a two-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. Matakevich was an unrestricted free agent.
Matakevich never had a huge impact as a reserve inside linebacker. But he did prove to be an exceptional special teams player and should continue this in Buffalo. With Matakevich gone and Mark Barron released, the Steelers have become dangerously thin at inside linebacker.
The Steelers also lost defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to free agency and released linebacker Anthony Chickillo from that defense.
